Bottle Crafts
Hey Everyone,
Hope you all are doing amazing today.
Bottle art is one of the easiest arts and craft that you can do. Also, it is
one of the best ways to recycle your plastic or glass bottles and make
something useful and beautiful out of it. For today’s DIY tutorial, I am going
to help you explore the different ways in which you can use bottles to make
decoration pieces, wall hangings or even flower vases. It is easy.
The things that you might need
for this DIY are:
- Empty glass or plastic bottles. I would prefer glass bottles as they look more sleek. But if you have plastic bottles, you can use those as well.
- Paint. For glass bottles, it is better if you have glass paint. However, acrylics can do the work too. Acrylic paints can also be usable for plastic bottles. So whichever is available utilize that first.
- The basics: glue, scissors, pencil, eraser, sharpener, cutter, and a scale.
Idea 1:
GOING DIRECT
If you want to go directly on the
glass bottle without forming a layer over it, you can start drawing a design on
the bottle with a marker, and start applying the paint on the design. You can
choose the colors according to your own wish.
Glass paints will give the
bottles a very classy effect. Whereas, acrylics can be used in a thick
consistency to give the bottles a more arty effect.
Keeping the bottle in one simple
color can make it look very boring. So why don’t you add colors to the bottle.
If you want it to be in a single color, add different shades of that particular
color to add volume to your work.
Idea 2:
LAYERING WITH PAPER
Layering the bottles with paper, with
the help of glue could give your bottle a very different texture.
For this, you need to tear pieces
of newspapers and glue it all over the bottle, covering each inch of the
bottle. This is an easier way of paper mache. The thickness of the layer
depends on you again. And the way you paste the newspaper pieces will also decide
the texture of the bottle you are covering. So make sure that all your pieces
of newspaper are not being glued in a flat way. Let there be creases and bumps
and overlapping pieces. It will make the bottle look beautiful once dried.
Once you have covered the bottle
with glue and newspaper, and once this has dried completely, you can now paint
the bottle with acrylic or poster paints. The technique of painting and the color scheme
yet again depends on how you want your bottle to look.
Subtle? Use more pastel colors.
Arty? Use more bright colors.
Glamorous? Use more shades of golds
and silvers and glitter too if you want to.
