DIY Paper Plates Crafts
Hey Everyone,
Hope you all are doing amazing
today. Today’s blog is a blast from my past. Using paper plates to make these
really adorable wall hangings. I still remember how much I enjoyed learning
this DIY craft at school. It is an easy DIY craft. Easy to make, easy to
purchase and easy to use. You can paint this in so many ways. Your children
would love this DIY craft. And if you yourself are making it, you can also
enjoy it and use it efficiently for decorating your classroom/ or DIY craft
room for that matter.
The things that you need for this
DIY craft are:
* Paper plates. In any shape and
size. Need a pair of two each if you want to make something different
* Paints
* Brushes
* Crepe paper
* Thread
* The basics (glue, basic
stationary, scissors)
* Stapler
* Punching machine
Step 1:
Take two plates of the same size.
Cut one of the plates in halves. Make sure you cut it from the center as this
part of the plate would be acting as the holder for things if you are hanging
it on a wall.
Step 2:
Paint it away. Paint these plates
as you like. You can design it the way you like it. You can make it look like a
real vase as well. So choose the colors wisely.
Step 3:
Once the paint has dried. Keep one
paper plate flat on the table, and put one half of the other plate upside down
on this plate. Make sure the edges are aligned perfectly. Now you should staple
the edges or glue them with a strong glue so that the paper plates wall hanging
does not fall open if anything is kept inside. In my opinion, you should use
both, the glue and a stapler to ensure that the edges don’t open.
Step 4:
Use a punching machine to punch
holes at the upper end of the single plate which is open and not covered with a
second paper plate. You can punch two holes to maintain balance.
Step 5:
Use a thick thread, which is also
strong to hold the paper plates with a few things in it hanging on the wall.
The thread could be braided, or twisted, to add a little more arty look to the
whole craft.
Tip: Don’t use this wall hanging
to hold heavy things. You can use this to organize some pencils or even car
keys. You can even use it as a wall hanging vase which can carry a few flowers
for decoration purpose in pretty much any room.
