All About DIY Cards
Hey Everyone,
Hope you all are doing amazing
today. Today we are going to talk about how to make different cards and how we
can make it easy for us. Cards are something that we are taught from the very
beginning of our educational learning. We, as kids, make cards for our parents,
our siblings and even our grandparents when we are small. But that is not the
only time you can make a care. Now that you are a teenager or even if you are a
grown up, you can make some high quality cards which will have the same emotions
attached to it.
So first, let’s talk about what
materials could be used to make a card. My favorite is the pastel sheet as it
has this amazing texture on it which give your coloring/sketching a simply perfect
card for your loved ones.
So the basic paper that you can
use is :
- Pastel sheet. There are a number
of varieties in pastel sheets with different grains on them. So you can choose
whether you want the ones with more grains to add more texture or otherwise.
- Card paper. I don’t really know
if they still make this, but I remember using this beautiful purple colored
card paper, which was also available in different colors. It had these
beautiful roses texture on it.
- Chart paper. To make it all
simple. You can use a simple piece of chart paper, and design the card using
different colors to make it look super gorgeous.
- Jewel stones
- Glitter
- Confetti
- Printouts of something that you like or the person you are making the card for likes
- Beans in all colors are also used by many schools as an activity for kids to make cards and frames. So you can use these as well.
Tips:
- For starters, make sure that the thickness of your paper is good. The thicker the paper, the better is will maintain its shape.
- Don’t use too much water on the card if you are using water colors or are painting. Too much water can make the card get dents which would not give the card the perfect look that you want to give it.
- Use sharp scissors to cut the paper so that the ends are perfect. Also, if you like, to give the card a vintage look, you can burn the ends of the card with a match stick or a candle. But since it is fire, be very careful when working with it.
