Here is the first video for today's blog, in which you can see a simple and familiar technique of making a rose, paper quilling. All you need is some paper, glue and a wire to make the stem. Have a look.

The best part about this video is that they have used available resources from the house to make a rose, like the newspaper. Just follow the step by step tutorial to fold the strip of paper into something as graceful as a rose. You can make a bundle of these and gift it so somebody or even keep it in a vase for embellishing your room. You can even paste these on gift boxes to give the box a much more exquisite look.

Here is another amazing technique to make roses.

This is a very different method of making a rose. You need to cut out an outline of three or more different sizes, depending on how many layers of petals you want to display. This way of making a rose also gives the DIY outcome look more realistic. The curvy edges of the petal are what make this rose look almost authentic.

It is amazing how the certain detailing can give something such a realistic look. In this video, you can cut the shape of petals on piled up paper, and keep the petals separate from one another.  Doing this will give each petal a different layer like a real rose has.
