Learn How to Make Paper Mache

Hey Everyone,

Hope you all are doing great. Today’s blog is going to be very basic in nature which will teach you different ways to make paper mache using newspaper, plain paper, and even tissue paper.

For this DIY, you need ;

  • Paper/tissue/newspaper (you can use any spare papers for this as in the end, you will be painting the final product)
  • Glue
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Hot water

Since the videos I will share today are from different video bloggers, their recipes for paper mache are differing too. Where some use glue, others use just water to make the clay. For your ease, watch all the videos to see which method best suits you and your timing.

Instead of shredding the paper this way, you can simply tear it into pieces with your hands too just to make your work easier.

Another idea to make paper mache.

The next video is a different way to make products out of paper mache. Here the paste is made separately with newspaper cuttings kept separately. The paste which makes the paper hard is applied to the paper instead of mixing the paper along with the flour mixture. Take a look at the next video to understand this new technique.

Another video tutorial on how to make the paste.

The next video uses slightly different materials to make paper clay. Watch the video to learn what those materials are and how to work with them.

Hope you all enjoyed reading today’s blog and would love to try paper mache at home. Stay tuned as I would be writing more about paper mache and related things that you can make easily at home within the budget which is not too expensive. This is me signing off. Until next time, you all stay super crafty.
