Cotton / Yarn / Wool Ball Lights Lamps and Shades
Hi everyone
Have you ever thrown out access wool/yarn stocked away in the store? I was about to do the same when I stumbled upon this idea and thought why to make a use of it instead. Although it is not as easy as you see in the video. It does take some time and practice to find the right way of doing it, worth a try for sure and the results are really satisfying. Hope you will enjoy and like doing it as much too all the best am sharing all the different videos I have in stock for different ways of making these light and lamp shades.
Would like to again mention that these video shared are not my property they are created by different youtube users.
Cotton Light Balls
Although this video is not in English, it is self-explanatory.
Following is another video for the same concept
Once you are hands on with this it can be done with different shapes and sizes. Actually, you can make it in any shape you have a balloon or inflatable object for.
Cotton Light Heart shaped
Let'ss go towards some serious stuff now
Cotton Yarn Lamps
The next video is similar but I like the way she has used the jam jar, with a hole in the lid, for dipping the yarn and containing it.
Rectangular Yarn Lamp Shade
Like the simplicity of this idea, no handling or adjusting required just get a light holder and cover it with your own handmade stylish shade.
Some more contemporary styles
Twine Lampshade Square
Things get a litter messier and a little complex here.
The last one but results are really awesome, it does require more patience and technique but the resulting lamp shade is worth it all
Some Tips from Experience
- As stated in these videos too don't make the mixture too watery.
- Instead of Glues used in these videos, white German glue can be an option which is more readily available in market.
- For best results leave the container/balloons after wrapping overnight.
Hope you guys like the idea have fun and take care until the next time.
